Singaround, in absence of advertised guests

11:55am Weds.  Sorry for short notice, but HEATHER BRADFORD has had to pull out (only this morning) with strep throat (get back to fitness soon, Heather).  That being the case, we'll run as a singaround, and (if he turns up) incorporate fiddler LEWIS WOOD into the mix (either with a series of three-tune spots within the singaround, or hand over the latter part of the evening to him.  Heather was bringing him, so I've had no separate contact and can't confirm the fixture).  If he's there, we'll Pass the Hat for him;  if not, the usual FOCSLE Music arrangements for a singaround will apply:  several times round those performers present, with a mid-term break.  No door charge:  we shake a tin, and politely importune you to buy a raffle ticket or two;  raffle has alcohol and (usually) confectionery prize(s).
St Andrew's Day on Friday, so any Scottish or Scots-leaning songs welcome (or songs about Scotch:  use your imagination… )

Smoky-toned vocalist HEATHER BRADFORD has been in several line-ups, esp. noted for being one third of the late lamented all-female a capella group Hen Party (with Sarah Morgan & Alison Muir).  A long-time Focsle supporter, she was also to have brought with her the talents of fiddler LEWIS WOOD.  He is/was Vice-President of the University Folk Society, whose instrumentalists meet most Mondays in The Doghouse to play what they've practised in a room on campus earlier that evening.  Formerly half of clarinet/fiddle duo Gentile & Wood, he can also be found at Doghouse Sessions, every 4th Monday, playing along with (or occasionally leading) many other semi-pro musicians in an informal session.  Intense energy, and a relaxed bowing technique (reminiscent of Ben Paley), are among his hallmarks.
